God Is Transforming Samburu Through the Nkalup Vision

New church

In one of the most remote and spiritually under-served regions of Kenya, God is writing an extraordinary story.

Through prayer, courageous local leadership, and faithful partnerships, the Samburu County Nkalup Vision (SCNV) was born—a coalition movement committed to bringing the Gospel to every corner of Samburu County.

Church members

Just over a decade ago, Samburu County had only 158 churches serving a population scattered across vast distances, harsh terrain, and deeply unreached communities.

Church leaders from over 20 denominations came together around one shared vision: Plant 1,000 locally led churches across Samburu County.

In the Samburu language, Nkalup means 1,000 so it became both our mantra and our commitment.

Faith was present, but access was not.

So we got to work. And what once seemed impossible is now becoming reality.

The vision is alive. And the foundation is strong.

Our Guiding Principles

Nkalup’s approach is intentionally simple, scalable, and rooted in biblical principles.

This model has proven resilient, even through pandemics, locust invasions, tribal conflict, and years of drought.

More Than Church Buildings

The most important thing being built through this vision is the foundation of a future rooted in Christ.

The mission was never just about the buildings, it was about the lives that are being transformed by it.

And as churches are planted, they become community centers bringing critical things to their members.

They help establish hope, offer Biblical teachings, raise up local leadership, support compassion ministries, meet family needs, and create education opportunities.

Across Africa, millions still live with little access to the Gospel.

The Samburu story proves that when local leaders are empowered, denominations collaborate, and faithful partners invest wisely, remarkable multiplication can happen.

This model can now inspire other unreached regions.
